First Pressing Matrix Numbers are etched in the dead wax on side one and on side two of the record. One side one UNKM-3825--1S, On side two: UNKM-3826--1S. This promotional single promotes the How Great Thou Art (HGTA) album. On the original sleeves there is a common printing flaw that is easily seen on the front of the sleeve and on all sleeves that I have seen. There are faint lines about 1/4 inch in from each side of the sleeve and runs from top to bottom. Years ago, while visiting a Tampa music store - I was told by a individual he believed a limited number (approx 3,000) copies of this RCA white label promotional 45 RPM were pressed, and distributed for radio stations Special Airplay only, and scheduled for Palm Sunday in 1967.

These two songs come from the then current HGTA album - which won Elvis his first Grammy Award. Parker's Palm Sunday/Easter gospel broadcast idea was followed up by the 1967 Christmas Special radio broadcast (vinyl & reel), which then led to a deal with NBC for a TV special in the next year i.

"68 Comeback Special" and all this was from the initial idea to promote Elvis' new gospel music on specific holidays in 1967. This bit of history has been kept in a caring, smoke-free environment, with no sunlight exposure, for the past 54 years. I have included LARGE PHOTOS and COLOR SCANS for CLOSEUPS of both the front and back of the record and sleeve for your OPPORTUNITY to grade this for yourself.

Any attempt that I make to "grade this" would be way out of my area of expertise. What YOU think is what really counts! I learned enough to know that this item is a wonderful piece and that it is rare. Before listing I did want to hear the record (both sides) one last time.

The record played beautifully on both sides. I recorded each side to and. Mp3 file - however if you contact me I will send you the files. This is the actual item that you will receive! The item will be packaged with the utmost of care.

It will be placed in a box with packing surrounding it to further protect it.
