It is beautifully framed & double matted. The overall framed is is 16" X 14". The size of the lithograph is 8.5" X 8". Below the lithograph are 5 actual Elvis U.
Lithography is unique as it closely resembles a painting. Lithography meaning is a print making process done by stone or metal plates. The artist creates the image onto the plate. It's based on the principle that oil & water doesn't mix. On the stone or metal plate lithography ink will be slightly raised on the surface. It's then pressed onto the medium surface.
The process is used to create original pieces of art. After the desired number of lithographs are completed the stone or metal plates are destroyed. Each lithograph is numbered & signed by the artist. Despite the differences in producing lithographs vs prints, the finished product from both can yield results that appear similar.
A closer look at the steps taken in each method reveals some of the distinct differences in lithographs & print making. The differences between a lithograph & a print is that the lithograph is a hand made copy. A print is a mass reproduction just transferring ink to paper. The lithograph is a very delicate process that requires much more work to produce the image especially when multiple colors are involved. Lithography is a graphic art unique to any other process.
