First off, let me explain that I was co-President of a 1978 fan club called "The Elvis Teddy Bear Project". This derived from the Elvis Presley Memorial Foundation of Elvis Presley Fan Clubs throughout the world. After Graceland took over The Foundation, we evolved the Teddy Bear Project.
What we did was collected stuff animals for children throughout the United States. Mainly for children that had some kind of trauma in their life. Such as in a children's hospital, adoption home, handicapped, maybe their home just burnt down or maybe the parents had just divorced and marital problems that affected the children very much. Anyway, we had been recognized by Graceland since our inception of 1978. We were proud and honored that Graceland supported our donating stuffed animals to children for many years and recognized our Elvis fan club. And that is exactly what Graceland did, they stripped our Elvis charitable Fan Club "The Teddy Bear Project" of any recognition of an Elvis Fan Club. Regardless of that decision, we continue our efforts in delivering these stuffed animals to children throughout the United States. I have visited many children hospital wards and saw just how important these stuffed animals or maybe a beanie baby had a mental effect of these children. This is more important than anything that Graceland puts out for Presidents of an Elvis Fan Club.
Certainly, no disrespect to Elvis, because all of these stuffed animals were given out in the memory of Elvis Presley. I will continue to help Elvis fans and collectors to enjoy these beautiful Fan Club cd's as long as they are sent to Presidents, which some Presidents or ex-Presidents that still receive these CDs will sell them to me. Just maybe that child that gets a Teddy Bear or beanie baby or any stuffed animal will remember that they received this gift in memory of the one and only Elvis Presley. The fans are what put Elvis on the map, Elvis knew this and loved his fans because of this, how come Graceland marketing department does not? Jack Soden is a good CEO, somebody talk to marketing or whomever does not understand fans or collecting of Elvis.
This is the Elvis 2002 Original Graceland Christmas rare CD that was sent to Elvis Fan Club Presidents, included the hand insert. Very Limited number of these beauties are out there. Cover is mint, CD is mint, never played. This Graceland CD is called: The Wonderful World of Christmas. This is one of two Elvis Fan Club CDs that were in a hardcase. Graceland has issued these Elvis holiday CDs since 1997, usually in December of each year. There were approximately 700 Elvis Holiday CDs produced each year. Making these CDs very rare and collectible. Do not delay thinking that these will always be available, very limited pressing of each one exist. Usually these CDs are in a cardboard slipcase cover and were unsealed. There were two CDs, 2002 and 2003 released in a hard case CD holder and were the only Graceland Fan Club CDs that were actually sealed. There is an insert message from The Presley Family, wishing the fans a great holiday season and New Year and thanking fans for their loyalty to Elvis. Photo has a glare to it.
