The record player does still play after all these years. I tried a 45 and it has a slight drag to it. The album played just fine! There were 2 models released in 1956.. A 45 player only and the 4 Speed Record.

This record player has been well loved on and does have come appearance issues. The latch is missing on the front, the sticker inside is missing, its possible it could be cleaned up to help the interior appearance. The plug has been replaced.
